Servers & Storage

xFusion

xFusion FusionServer rack servers, Huawei's server business spun out after US sanctions, made in Penang, deployed as on-prem compute for SME backups.

What xFusion does

xFusion makes the FusionServer line of rack and rack-scale servers — general-purpose and AI-workload compute hardware. The company was spun out of Huawei's x86 server business in 2021 after US sanctions cut Huawei off from Intel chip supply; the product line (formerly Huawei FusionServer) now ships independently under the xFusion brand, with its first global supply centre opened in Penang, Malaysia in 2025.

Where it fits

Servers & Storage — xFusion hardware is the on-premises server running the applications and data that a Backup & Disaster Recovery plan is built to protect, rather than a backup product itself.

Typical deployments

Server refresh or new server deployment for an SME replacing aging on-prem infrastructure, where the new machine then becomes the source system backed up under a Synology or Veeam-based DR plan.
