Starlink and Peplink rural connectivity proof-of-concept in Sabah

The challenge

Field teams needed a stable connection during site visits to rural areas, since the unit's software and documents are centralized at their Sabah HQ and unreachable without connectivity.

The solution

We deployed a Starlink Flat High Performance dish paired with a Peplink BR1 Mini router and a diesel generator for power, giving the team connectivity back to HQ even in remote, off-grid locations.

The result

Tested at Bundutuhan, Ranau, where cellular signal is completely dead, the setup achieved roughly 80Mbps download and 30Mbps upload — speeds that dip somewhat due to weather and the surrounding mountain terrain.
