The challenge
The client operates across two sites and needed their FortiGate configuration migrated in two stages: the headquarters firewall from a 200F to a new 201G, then the retired 200F redeployed to the branch to replace an older 60F.
The solution
We migrated the HQ configuration from the 200F to the 201G first, manually rebuilding VPN tunnels and user profiles where FortiConverter's automatic conversion wasn't compatible. The same manual rebuild process was then repeated for the branch migration from the 60F to the redeployed 200F.
The result
Both sites were migrated with a single night of downtime and zero post-migration issues.
