Cold-storage structured cabling and Wi-Fi network for a Sabah logistics company

The challenge

The cold room runs at -30°C, so the access points needed to be outdoor-rated and able to withstand extreme temperature swings. Reliable in-room internet was essential too, since the client's Warehouse Management System, GudangSys, updates inventory in real time and needed constant connectivity.

The solution

We installed Omada EAP650 access points in the office area, EAP650-OD units in the smaller -30°C cold room, and EAP650-OD-120 units in the larger one — positioning each unit below the compressor to avoid condensation.

The result

In-room Wi-Fi speeds rose from under 10Mbps to around 400Mbps after installation, with most previous dead zones now covered.
